# How Tick Mark Books ticks a price

One standard month, the cheapest public plan that keeps it, the ledger added in, and the page each figure came from.

## The standard month

Every product is priced for the same month: one small business with 100 transactions, on the cheapest public plan that can keep those books. Where a product works inside QuickBooks Online or Xero, the ledger's own plan is added, and both parts are shown. Prices are the regular ones: no first-months offers, no trials.

## The tick

A tick beside a figure means we read that price on the maker's own page and quote it. An open tick means part of the month is not stated there. A product that publishes no price shows “Quote only” instead of a figure.

## Order

**Featured** places come first, in their own labelled block. Then each category with three or more products is listed cheapest month first, with products we could not price at the end; a smaller one is listed A to Z. Paying never moves a product in that order.

## Keeping it current

We re-read each maker's pricing page and update the figure when it changes. Makers correct their listing from their [dashboard](https://tickmarkbooks.com/dashboard). Tick Mark Books compares software. It is not tax, legal or accounting advice.
